Sexual attraction and orientation are are different things. Today, we have people choosing the gender they want to identify with, people who belong to the queer group who choose not to identify as straight yet, their sexual attraction is somewhat fluid. What’s even more confusing is the pansexual and bisexual group which is very similar, yet they don’t mean the same thing. Read on to learn more about sexuality, and the key difference between pansexual and bisexual orientation.
What is sexuality?
Sexuality is not the easiest term to define today. To some people, sexuality is fluid, while to others it isn’t. Whatever the case may be, sexuality is a concept used to describe the gender and sexual interest of an individual. Or better still, sexuality is all about the sexual orientation of someone’s preferences, likes and dislikes, behaviors and attraction. Sexuality and sexual orientation are sometimes used interchangeably. Sometimes, understanding one’s sexuality takes time. This is because sexuality can be expressed through physical and emotional desires. And these desires are often influenced by several factors including environment, culture, and even friends.
Pansexual defined
Pansexual individuals are people who are attracted to all genders. And by all genders, we mean those people who are agender, i.e., people who do not identify with any gender. This means that a pansexual individual can be attracted to anyone irrespective of the gender the person identifies with. The thing to know about pansexual individuals is that they are attracted to people not by their gender, but by their personality. As such, gender is not a deal-breaker for them. So, like the way, a heterosexual man wants to be with a woman, yet not attracted to all women, so is a pansexual person.
Bisexual defined
On the other hand, bisexual individuals are people who are attracted to both genders. But gender isn’t binary, hence, we can’t simply say bisexual individuals are attracted to either a woman or a man. So, when we say a bisexual individual is attracted to both gender, it is a misnomer. To some people, bisexuality is a term used to describe individuals who are attracted to two or more genders. While others see bisexuality as a term used to describe individuals that are attracted to the same gender.
Key difference
While pansexual and bisexual sound like the same thing, they are quite different, and the main difference lies in the people they are attracted to. The key difference between pansexual and bisexual is that pansexual individuals are attracted to all genders, while bisexual individuals are only attracted to multiple genders. Note that the term multiple genders are not the same thing as all. Hence, bisexual individuals may be picky in the type of gender they are attracted to.
Conclusion
To sum things up, a bisexual threesome can fall under the confinement of a bisexual relationship. But that doesn’t mean that if you are a pansexual individual, you cannot enjoy the pleasure of a bisexual threesome. Overall, it doesn’t matter what label you decide to call yourself. What matters the most is to do what works best for you.
